Have you heard about the Quilt Show at the Heritage Center Museum? Quilts from the 1800's to 2005 will be on display. The show runs March 19th thru April 17th. We will be open Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday from 1-4 with extended hours during Spring break. Come enjoy hands-on demonstrations and activities for the kids. Please call the Heritage Center for more information @(503)625-1236.
Today (3/4/05) Jesse Harding and I went to Sherwood Middle School to do a presentation to 60
6th graders. We asked how amny of them knew where Sherwood's Museum was and three raised their hands. When we asked if they knew where Old Town was, only three did not know.
We are recruiting new students to learn how to do computerized mapping and become field study participants.
Where'd ya get the photo of the onion hicks?
It's the photograph that was the source of the Sherwood Historical Society logo we sometimes use. Yeap, Sherwood sure shipped a lot of cipole in those days!
I hope that this site grows and helps promote interest in the our towns place in history. I wont have much to contribute but do plan to be a frequent reader. Thanks!
Hey, JC Speaking of youn'uns, We need 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students to take our free mapping class starting April 2nd 9:00 to Noon at the high school. Get out the word!
