Our findings on the dig concluded that the site was a blacksmith's shop for the Chehalem Stage during the late 1860's-1870's. We found wagon parts, harness parts, and even the front teeth of a horse (or cow). The fruit pickers of the 1930's must have used the old shack for sleeping and or cooking. We found some of their leavings on the top level.
Oh, yes! ...and be sure to check out the "Our Town" Posters and "Dig" findings at the Morback House Museum during the Robin Hood Festival!! Until then, Clyde and and I will be out on the Oregon Trail!!!!
