Eagle Scout Nathanael Haggard gets his receipt for a job well done from Sherwood Historical Society President Polly. Thanks to Nathan, the musicians now have benches to sit upon as they perform from the front and/or back porches of Smock House.

Wow!! That is so great! How exciting to get these kids involved in history and doing something for their community. Where did the spinning wheel in the background come from?
I was wondering about that myself. The picture was taken inside Smock House, which is not generally open to the public. Even so, the real excitement here is about Nate's benches. He stained the wood to make them look like they were really 100 years old. It was a class act.
Oh hey! What a great project! I can't wait to use them in Vet.s Memorial Park for Trail Days!!!
I saw two benches in the Smock Garden. Someone was resting from their weeding!
yah, i helped him make those benches. he is a great kid. it took him 8-10 hours of work/planing to make it happen.
