Black powder experts from all over the Pacific Northwest are making a weekend of it at Parrett Mountain Farm this weekend. 1840's costumes will be the rule, along with the antique weaponry. The event is co-sponsored by the Forest Hills Black Powder Brigade.The event is free to the public.

Waall, a good time was had by all! Corral Creek Connection was the band that played. There were 75 people who entered either with lodges or in the shooting competition. People were still coming in to shoot after the awards were given out at 10'o clock Sunday morning! The event already has outgrown Bob's Corner!
I saw an article in the Newberg Graphic about this. It said that the Sherwood Historical Society had representatives there.
Yeah yeah! Two of our members (June Reynolds and Clyde List) were photographed. It's the biggest photo in the article! For Pete's sake. Yeah, we were there big time.
Besides all the black power shoote'n there was treasure hunts and games for the children and a fry pan toss for all the females. I'd never done it before and it was not as easy as it looks. You get extra points for hitting the men out in the field. I almost hit one, but almost didn't count and the throw was not very far!!
You almost got hit by a frying pan!? Lord! Be careful Lilly. Even your noggin is no match against a 19th Century cast iron utensil such as a frying pan. The Sherwood Historical Society would be just a bunch of useless old folks without you! Please be more careful at the next Black Powder event.
As judge that day,I would like to say that Lilly almost hit ME!If she would have, she would won the game!
