All Things Tea.

The exhibit chronicled the history of tea from the Chinese railway workers to the English immigrants who settled in the Tualatin Valley. Started Saturday March 15 and continues through April 30th. The exhibit is free to the public.

The Mad Hatters Tea Party commenced at 1:00 p.m. Friday March 28 and Saturday March 29th. We staged a 3:00 P.M. Tea Party on Saturday as well. Each hour-long event included tea and treats and a performance put on by Louis Carroll’s characters, The Mad Hatter, March Hare, The Dormouse, The Red Queen, and of course, Alice herself. The cost was $4.50 per person.
The party was limited to ten participants a day, so that the audience could fit around the table along with the actors.

It's a totally unrehearsed blue box!
Please help an old person who is struggling to keep up in the modern world. What means: "blue box"? Years ago, a blue box was the machine Steve Jobs invented to make free round-the-world telephone calls. (All you had to do was replicate those sine waves you heard every time you dialed a number on your Princess phone.) I'm sure the term "blue box" has been applied to some other purpose by 2008. Please explain. I would really like to know.

Thanks to Lauren Maki, Sumi Chambers, and Crystal Reynolds for giving up part of their Spring Break to help us with the Tea!!!
And thanks also to the number of people who made it necessary to do the extra show. We expected half a dozen people to express interest. Instead, we turned people away.
Thanks most of all to the Mad Hatter (June Reynolds) for being crazy enough to come up with the idea. The Heritage Trail Festival and History Camp are two other concepts of hers that have put the Historical Society in the news. And that's not all. The list goes on!
Is this exhibit still up? I'd like to come and see it.....
Only until April 30, then it's comme'n down to make way for Pioneer Days!!!
