A hootenanny is where we all get together and sing and play music.
I always thought that about you too, John Brown. Ever since you died.
I think that there might have been a few "apron" dances during old John's time. He tried to dance with the few ladies that were at the play parties, but ended up dancing in a game called the apron dance. The Mountain Men invented that.
A Hootenanny is a singing event in which people sing folk songs, like the Crawdad Song.
